What we do not collect

  • Payment card details. Stripe and Link handle payment. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Passwords. We do not use passwords. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email.
  • Practice exam scores. Scores and progress for our practice exams are saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, they are gone, and we cannot restore them.
  • Information from children. See "Children" below.

Cookies and similar storage

We use one cookie that we need for the site to work:

  • Sign-in cookie. A signed cookie that keeps you signed in. It lasts up to 30 days, or until you sign out or clear your cookies.

We also use your browser's local storage to hold your practice exam scores on your device, as described above.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party pixels. When you go to checkout, you leave our site for a Stripe-hosted page, and Stripe and Link may use their own cookies under their own policies.

How purchases work

Our checkout runs on Stripe Checkout with Stripe Managed Payments. For these orders, the seller of record your bank statement and receipt will show is Link (the purchase is marked "Sold through Link"), operated by Stripe through its affiliate Sold through Link, LLC. Link sends your receipts, handles transaction support, and lets you manage your orders at app.link.com. Stripe and Link handle the information you give at checkout under their own privacy policies:

Stripe shares with us your email, name (if given), Stripe customer ID, and order details so we can give you access to what you bought.

Who helps us run the site

We use a small number of service providers. They process information on our behalf and under their own contracts with us.

Provider What they do What they handle
Stripe, Inc. and Link (Sold through Link, LLC) Payments, receipts, refunds, tax, fraud checks, order management Checkout and order information
Vercel Inc. Hosts our website Server logs, including IP address
Resend Sends our sign-in emails and list emails, and holds our email lists Your email address, which list you joined, and the emails we send you

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Emails we send

We send emails you need, such as sign-in links and messages about your account or purchases. Link sends your receipts and refund notices.

We send list emails only if you sign up on one of our free sample pages, tick the consent box, and click the confirm link we email you. Our list sign-ups are for adults 18 and over. Every list email includes our mailing address and a working unsubscribe link, and we honor your request to unsubscribe within 10 business days. Unsubscribing from a list does not stop sign-in links or messages about your purchases.

How long we keep information

  • Order records: kept in Stripe for 7 years for tax, accounting, and legal reasons.
  • Sign-in cookie: up to 30 days.
  • Email delivery records at Resend: deleted automatically under Resend's retention settings, usually within days.
  • Server logs at Vercel: kept for a short period set by Vercel, then deleted automatically.
  • Support messages: kept for up to 2 years after we answer, then deleted.
  • Email list: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a do-not-email list so we do not contact you again.
  • Sign-ups never confirmed: we store nothing; the confirm link expires after 48 hours.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy,
  • correct it,
  • delete it.

Email bbhq_support@nfcg.io from the address you used to buy. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. We aim to respond within 45 days.

Some laws, including New Hampshire's privacy law, give these rights to residents of certain states, and you can appeal if we decline your request. To appeal, reply to our decision at bbhq_support@nfcg.io with "Appeal" in the subject line. If we deny your appeal, you may contact the attorney general in your state. We offer these rights to all customers, wherever they live.

Some information we must keep even after you ask us to delete it, such as order records needed for tax law. Deleting your information also ends your Library access.

You can also ask Link to delete the information tied to your Link purchases and Link account. Link's support is at https://support.link.com.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not use it for profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects.

Children

Our children's books are meant to be read to or with a child by a grown-up. The site, accounts, and purchases are for adults 18 and older only. Children do not create accounts, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, email bbhq_support@nfcg.io and we will delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS, signed sign-in cookies, and one-time sign-in links. No system is perfectly secure. Keep your email account safe, because anyone who can open your email can use a sign-in link. Do not forward sign-in links to anyone.

Where your information is processed

We are based in the United States, and our providers process information mainly in the United States.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
